American Recovery and Reinvestment Act

On February 17, 2009, President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The Recovery Act is an unprecedented effort to jumpstart our economy, create or save millions of jobs, and put a down payment on addressing long-neglected challenges so that our country can thrive in the 21st century. It specifies appropriations for a wide range of Federal programs that will:

Throughout the document it refers funding being allocated for:

Chinook Associates has been created as an industry leader in the design, development and management of Natural Resources, Parks, Protected Areas and Recreational Trail Systems. We accomplish this by providing a complete spectrum of products and services needed by public and private entities responsible for managing these resources. Services provided include but are not limited to all facets of landscape construction and maintenance; non-native and invasive weed management; revegetation and reclamation of disturbed areas; forest insect and disease control; wildland fire fuel reduction; and recreational trail development and administration. In addition to providing a skilled workforce to perform these services, Chinook Associates also provides personnel training to agencies and organizations. This training covers a broad range of both technical and leadership related skills.

Our vision at Chinook Associates is to maximize the benefit of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds by focusing on both training and meaningful work experience. The concept is to fund training through the State Department of Laborís Workforce Development Programs and fund the work through the respective Agencies/Organizations that would be the recipient of the work product. Chinook Associates can manage some or all of this process for you. This type of affiliation between public and private agencies and organizations has statewide and national possibilities. The following links are to a series of draft proposals for different types of work that could be developed applying this type of partnership. The first four draft proposals are more comprehensive but we have included further proposals as a quick brainstorming effort.
